Although a United States Supreme Court ruling paved the way for a more consumer-friendly system of distributing wine and other alcoholic beverages, the spirit of the decision still isn’t being felt in some states.
One example: Texas. According to a report in the Austin American-Statesman, some legislators have gone out of their way to stack the deck against a freer flow of distribution and in favor of the long-entrenched, distributor-controlled system known as the three-tier system.
