Monterey Vintners Gear Up for Big Celebration

There may be no better way to spend a Saturday afternoon in California’s beautiful coastal community of Monterey than by attending the 15th annual Monterey Winemakers’ Celebration.

The four-hour feast of the senses is scheduled for Saturday, August 11 from 12 noon until 4 p.m. at the Custom House Plaza in Monterey. Here’s just a sampling of what attendees can experience during the Celebration:

The upbeat tunes of the Eldredge and Rossi Band.

An auction of older vintages and large-format bottles.

An education tent spotlighting wine barrel building, and

offering two unique seminars.

Tasty food (available for purchase) from top local chefs.

Wine samples from more than four dozen local wineries.

Tickets are priced at $35 in advance or $40 at the door, and a $50 VIP ticket entitles the holder to a Riedel sparkling wine glass and Reserve wine samples.

When inland California is sweltering at or near the 100-degree mark, Monterey typically checks in at a comfortable 20 to 30 degrees cooler during August. So, the Winemakers’ Celebration not only offers fabulous food and wine, but it’s a great way to beat the heat.
