Tickets for the 2008 International Alsace Varietals Festival are now available online at avwines.com.
If you like Gewurztraminer, Riesling, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc or Muscat, you won’t want to miss this weekend-long celebration of Alsatian-style wines, food, music and more. And best of all, you don’t have to travel to Europe to do it.
The festival will held February 9-10 in the picturesque Anderson Valley of California’s Mendocino County.
Saturday events include a Technical Conference, Alsace Varietals Grand Tasting, and Alsace-Style Winemakers Dinner.
Then on Sunday, the local wineries will host open houses, offering seminars, food and wine pairings, tours and more.
Participating wineries include:
Chateau St. Michelle
Trimbach
Domaine Marc Kreydenweiss
Domaines Schlumberger
WillaKenzie Estate
Thomas Fogarty Winery
Foris Vineyards Winery
Chateau Grand Traverse
Kumeu River
Ponzi Vineyards

You may even run into a member of the Vinesse tasting panel there, although most of our panel members and wine finders prefer to go “incognito” in order to get “the real scoop,” rather than a sales pitch, from vintners.
Planning to go and need a place to stay? Try the Fensalden Inn, a historic bed and breakfast located on the tranquil Mendocino Coast, between Anderson Valley and the village of Mendocino.
