Two Fun Ways to Spend Your Tax Return

Are you one of those lucky people who has a nice tax refund coming this year?

Or are you waiting until 11 o’clock tomorrow night to even sit down and fill out your returns?

If you fall into the latter category… good luck! But if you’ve sent in your returns and are expecting a check from Uncle Sam, I have a few suggestions on how you might want to “invest” that windfall.

In just under two weeks, a “Spring Wines of Washington Cruise” will take place on the MS Oosterdam. The San Diego-to-Vancouver cruise will be led by Tom Hedges and other Washington state winemakers and food experts.

There will be wine tastings, discussions and winemaker lunches and dinners. Fares vary based on the event options selected.

The cruise is offered by Holland America and the Washington Inland AAA. You can get more information or inquire about last-minute reservations by calling 800-562-2582, ext. 4.

If you need a little more planning time, or if you’d prefer not to test your sea legs, consider attending the “Highlands’ Fling,” an afternoon of Monterey County wines and the award-winning cuisine of master chef Kurt Grasing.

The event will take place at Paraiso Vineyards, which is one of more than two dozen wineries that will be pouring their wares.

Tickets for the three-hour event are priced at $85 per person, and you can get more info by calling 888-646-5446.

Wine tasting events – whether by land or by sea – are fun ways to spend some time with like-minded family members and friends.

But if you just can’t get away for whatever reason, the wine clubs of Vinesse are here to provide some memorable armchair journeys of the vinous variety. To learn more, simply click on the “Vinesse Wine Clubs” link.
