I can’t think of a
place I’d rather be during the month of August than
California’s
beautiful coastal community of
Monterey.
While inland
temperatures can soar into three digits,
Monterey
typically basks in clear skies and temps from the mid-60s to mid-70s. It
doesn’t get much more comfortable than that.
Need another
reason to head west? Consider attending the 16th annual Winemakers’ Celebration
on Saturday, August 9 at the
Custom
House
Plaza
downtown. It’s a four-hour wine-tasting extravaganza featuring the bottlings of
more than three dozen
Monterey
County wineries,
including several that have been featured by the wine clubs of Vinesse.
A few of the
winery participants…
– Bargetto
– Chalone
– Mer Soleil
– Morgan
– Thomas Fogarty
–
Storrs
– Ventana
– Chateau Julien
– Hahn Estates /
Smith & Hook
… and the list goes
on.
There are three
ticket price levels:
– General
Admission – Includes souvenir wine glass, wine samples and entertainment for
$35.
– Reserve Club – Includes etched Riedel wine glass, wine samples, Reserve wine samples and
entertainment for $50.
– Drive Safely
Program – Includes souvenir mug, non-alcoholic drinks and entertainment.

We’ll have
information on another summertime tradition that involves wine – specifically,
a concert series at a popular California Gold Country estate – tomorrow, right
here on VinesseTODAY.com.
