Temecula Balloon & Wine Festival Takes to the Air

    The 26th annual Temecula Valley Balloon & Wine Festival is set for June 5-7 in Southern California’s “wine country” north of San Diego and south of Orange County.

     Here are some facts and figures to help you plan your trip…

     FESTIVAL LOCATION: Riverside County Parks Lake Skinner Recreation Area, 37701 Warren Rd., Winchester, CA 92596

     GATES OPEN: 5 p.m. Friday, 6 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.

     HOURS: Friday, 5-10 p.m., Saturday, 6 a.m.-10 p.m., Sunday, 6 a.m.-6 p.m.

     ANIMALS: Not allowed in the Festival area and should not be left in vehicles.

     ADMISSION: Friday, $18.00 adults; children 12 and under free; Saturday, $22.00 adults, youth 7-12 $5.00 and children 6 and under free; Sunday, $15.00 adults, youth 7-12 $5.00 and children 6 and under free.

     2-Day Package — $30.00 for Saturday/Sunday.

     Available at entrance gate only — Early Bird Balloon Launch, Saturday from 6 to 8 a.m., $15.00, and Sunday from 6 to 8 a.m., $10.00.

     Sunday only — Active Military discount $10.00; must show Military I.D.

     PARKING: Autos, $5.00; Buses and Motorhomes, $10.00 Note: No overnight parking.

     ENTERTAINMENT: Cost is included in the price of admission. Look for special information regarding ticket packages for main stage entertainment located in close proximity to the main stage.

     ALCOHOL TICKET SALES:  Friday from 5 to 8:30 p.m.; Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.; and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. One Beverage Ticket = $2.00.

     WINE & BEER: These may be purchased by the glass from booths located in the main stage area or in the wine garden area. Beer is $6.00, and wine and vodka-mixed drinks are $8.00.

     WINE TASTING: The hours of wine tasting are Friday, 5 to 9 p.m.; Saturday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.; and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wine tasting is an additional charge and you may purchase 7 tastes and a souvenir glass for $15.00.

     FOOD COURT: Several vendors offer a variety of food, which usually includes Mexican, Greek, Chinese, Italian, Funnel Cakes, Hot Dogs, Hamburgers, Sandwiches, BBQ, Tri-Tip, Sausages, Fries, Kettle Corn, Smoothies, Shaved Ice, Coffee, Soda, Lemonade and Ice Cream.

     BALLOON LAUNCH: Saturday and Sunday at 6:30 a.m., with balloons returning to the ground by 8:30 a.m. (weather permitting).

     BALLOON GLOW: Friday evening and Saturday evening after sundown (weather permitting).

     BALLOON RIDES: Hot air balloon rides will be available and must be reserved in advance. Call 800-965-2122.
