South Carolina resident Danny Temples recently drove away in a Honda Civic Hybrid car he won in the “Spot the Fetzer Car Sweepstakes.”
The giveaway was part of Fetzer Vineyards’ campaign to promote its sustainable practices across the U.S. through the Fetzer Eco Tour — a traveling celebration of the winery’s earth-friendly practices.
Throughout the campaign, consumers were encouraged to “Spot the Fetzer Car” and sign up on the Fetzer Web site to enter to win a hybrid, as well as learn more about Fetzer’s environmental practices.
Temples was among more than 10,000 entrants who participated in the sweeps.
“We’re excited to give away the hybrid car to a deserving South Carolina resident,” said Mike Haering, Fetzer Brand Manager. “This is an opportunity for Fetzer to continue its commitment of environmental stewardship in a fun and beneficial way, as the Honda Hybrid has superb fuel mileage and low emissions.”
At Fetzer, sustainability means a thorough commitment to environmental responsibility. As a pioneer in sustainable agriculture and winemaking, Fetzer has been practicing this for more than 20 years.
Fetzer’s sustainable practices include energy conservation and carbon emission reduction, natural pest control, waste reduction, water conservation and recycled materials packaging, among other initiatives.
Today, Fetzer is a recognized leader in the wine industry, having won numerous state and federally-awarded honors for its efforts. The winery stands as a shining example that even huge enterprises can play responsible roles in environmental stewardship.
