Add Chile to the ever growing list of winegrowing countries that is taking its responsibility to the land seriously.
According to Decanter, the University of Talca recently completed development of a sustainability protocol, providing winery owners with a road map for achieving sustainability in their farming and winemaking practices.
Without such a protocol, achieving sustainability can be a difficult pursuit, as goals, definitions, specifications, etc. can vary widely from country to country. Now, the Chilean wine industry can work toward specific goals that ultimately will provide a meaningful certification.
