Tickets are now on sale for Sonoma Jazz +, a three-day feast of wine, food and music that will take over downtown Sonoma May 21-23.
The festival actually is three events in one: a concert series with headline entertainers, a strolling wine- and food-tasting extravaganza, and a late-night “after-party.”
Headliners on May 21 include Lizz Wright at 6 p.m., followed by Crosby, Stills and Nash at 8. On May 22, the 9 p.m. concert will feature Earth, Wind and Fire. And on May 23, the 8 p.m. show will star Elvis Costello and The Sugarcanes.
During the afternoon hours on May 21-22, an event dubbed “Wine & Song Around the Plaza” will offer guests four food tastings, 12 wine (or beer or tequila) tastings and eight live music performances each day.
Several venues around the historic Sonoma Plaza — including the Ledson Hotel, Chateau Sonoma, El Dorado Kitchen, Shiso, The Red Grape, Swiss Hotel, Meritage, and Murph’s Irish Pub — will serve food and adult beverages while an array of musicians entertain.
Among the musical acts scheduled to appear are Elaine Lucha, George Cole and Vive Le Jazz, the Joshi Marshall Quartet, Rhonda Benin, Steffen Kuehn, Andrew Freeman, Jonathan Poretz, the Doug Beavers Latin Jazz Quintet, Orquesta d’Soul, and Hurricane Sam and The Hot Shots.
And for those who just can’t get enough of a good thing, “SJ+ After Dark” will keep the music playing at the El Dorado Kitchen each night after the main stage performance ends.
