As if we needed one, there’s a new reason to visit Sonoma’s historic downtown plaza.
It’s the Plaza Wine Bar, which has opened in the back of the Plaza Bistro restaurant.
Restaurateur Martin Chavez is the man behind the project, and he knows a thing or two about wine. He’s the former head of the Sonoma Valley Vintners & Growers Alliance.
Plans call for the Plaza Bistro’s kitchen to provide gourmet bites for a small fee, with menu items created for pairing with local wines. Also featured will be wine flights, giving customers a chance to try several wines in one sitting, and music will be presented on the weekends.
The Plaza Bistro and Plaza Wine Bar are located at 320 1st Street East Street in Sonoma. For reservations, call 707-996-4466.
