Planning Your SLO Wine Country Visit Just got Easier

The San Luis Obispo County Business Improvement District has announced “Wine Coast Country” as its new branding moniker to describe the pristine coastal region that lays midway between Los Angeles and San Francisco.

The organization also announced the launch of a comprehensive tourism website with state-of-the-art interactive planning for visitors and residents alike at: www.WineCoastCountry.com

Wine Coast Country is named for the beaches, world-class wineries, bucolic small towns rooted in rich history, picturesque unspoiled environment, and the spirit of authentic community.

Recently featured as one of the world’s happiest places to live on “Good Morning America,” the area boasts 450 hotels, motels, bed & breakfasts and vacation rentals, plus an abundance of restaurants and recreational choices.

“We have such a diverse and beautiful county,” said CBID Board Chair Mike Hanchett, owner of San Simeon’s Best Western Cavalier Inn. “This website showcases that diversity and beauty, while making it easy – and fun – for anyone to plan a vacation here.”

The CBID has collaborated closely with other tourism groups and agencies to amass a rich and complete set of listings, and will be building out to more than 2,200 pages of tourism content about visiting any region in the county, with particular emphasis on the unincorporated areas.

Using the itinerary-builder, travel planners can choose places to stay, things to do, even where to eat, and then printing their final selections. The itinerary can be interfaced with interactive Google maps for a downloadable map to bring on the trip, or sent to a smart phone or other mobile device.
