Over the years, Adam Tolmach has gained a stellar reputation for producing memorable wines from grapes grown in Santa Barbara County.
The actual winemaking, however, took place farther south, in the Ventura County community of Ojai. Hence the name of Tolmach’s enterprise: The Ojai Vineyard.
And those wines have long been coveted by consumers. When you’ve been plying your craft as long as Tolmach has – close to three decades – and you have access to fabulous winegrapes, good things are bound to happen in the cellar. If you’ve ever tasted a Bien Nacido Vineyard Pinot Noir from The Ojai Vineyard, you know what we’re talking about.
Now, Tolmach is bringing his wine to the masses – well, such as “the masses” are in the tiny community of Ojai, which is best known for its art galleries.
He has opened a tasting room in the downtown area, housed in a building formerly used for a fire station. It’s located at 109 S. Montgomery St.
