Give J an A for Environmental Stewardship

J Vineyards & Winery has achieved certified sustainable status through the California Sustainable Winegrowers Alliance. The certification covers all vineyard and winery operations.

As more and more wineries embrace environmentally-friendly farming and winemaking practices, we like to tell you about them here. Why? Because these are wine estates that are helping to ensure the future of the wine business. They’re not merely making a big profit; they’re leaving a lasting legacy that others will be able to build upon.

J Vineyards & Winery is located minutes south of Healdsburg, CA and owns 10 estate vineyards sprinkled throughout the Russian River Valley, totaling more than 250 acres of planted Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris grapes.

“For the past two years, we’ve been diligently working on aligning J with CSWA’s commitment to wine quality,” said John Erbe, the estate’s viticulturalist. “Our estate vineyards have been planted utilizing the latest techniques in water conservation, wildlife habitat corridors, and soil erosion reduction.”

Founded in 2010, the sustainability program is a third-party verification and certification process maintained by CSWA. Based on 227 “best practices,” it’s designed to ensure environmental stewardship, the conservation of energy and natural resources, and socially equitable business practices.

Not to mention lots of good wine for all of us in the years and decades to come.
