So Long! It’s Been Great! Wait a Minute… What?

Since the world will be ending soon (it could be any minute now), there will be no blog post here today.

I’d like to thank you for following us through the years. We’ve had some fun, haven’t we? And with that, so long, and cheers!

What’s that? You’re kidding. The world ISN’T ending today? We’re NOT going to be hit by a comet or another planet?

But the Mayan calendar makes it very clear that…

Huh? The Mayan calendar has been misinterpreted? You say the U.S. government even issued a statement dismissing the Mayan prophecy?

So I need to come up with a blog post after all?

Great…

I mean, “Great!”

Well, there’s really only one way to deal with a setback… uh, I mean, with great news… like this: Drink some wine!

I think I’ll hop on a plane (tickets should be readily available since nobody could have been planning to fly today, right?) and head to northern California, then make a beeline to the Mountain Winery in Saratoga.

I hear they’re putting on “The End of the Mayan Calendar Party” from 7 p.m. until midnight. I also hear that Executive Chef David Sidoti will be preparing a themed menu (shrimp ceviche cocktail, mole chicken drumettes, tacos, Mexican flan, churros)… that Mark Kaye and Johnny Reason will be performing some R&B, funk and old-school Motown… and that there will be a Mayan-inspired beverage of some sort available, complete with a souvenir glass.

I further hear that tickets should be available at the door for $25, and that further information is available here.

Personally, I think the folks at the Mountain Winery are tempting fate, but that’s just me, I guess.

And with that, I guess there’s nothing more to say than… see you Monday!
