For romantics who live in or are visiting California’s Central Coast wine region, Valentine’s Day at the new Vina Robles winery is shaping up to be romantic, indeed.
Vina Robles is teaming up with one of the hottest restaurants in the area, Thomas Hill Organics, to present a four-course meal, complete with paired wines. It promises to be a memorable evening for foodies.
“We believe in the significance of organic, regionally-produced food, working with local purveyors for our poultry, fish and grass-fed beef, lamb and exotic meats,” notes the Thomas Hill website. “Nearby farmers provide all fruits and vegetables, which are always straight-from-the-earth fresh, and our breads are crafted by local bakers who are celebrated artisans of their trade.”
And here’s what the restaurant has planned for Valentine’s dinner at the winery:
• First Course — Crispy Farm Egg (truffle toast, poached spring onions, Parmesan emulsion, marinated fava beans).
• Second Course — Ricotta Gnocchi (snap peas, pesto cream sauce, basil salsa verde and Parmesan crisps).
• Third Course — Grilled Sirloin (with red onion pearls, purple potato hash, pumpernickel breading, strawberry gastrique) or Butternut Squash Gratin (red onion petals, purple potato hash, pumpernickel breading, nutmeg Bechamel sauce).
• Fourth Course — Chocolate Marquis Cake (Grand Marnier whipped cream, orange coulis).
Pianist Richard Moratin will be on hand to set the mood musically, and you can preview his music here.
The cost for this full evening of wining, dining and entertainment is $80 per person, and tickets may be obtained here.
