Remember that group called Jazz Attack that we mentioned in yesterday’s blog about the 2014 concert series at The Mountain Winery in Saratoga, Calif.?
Well, that same trio will open the 2014 Champagne Jazz Series at the Thornton Winery in Temecula, Calif., north of San Diego.
Peter White, Rick Braun and Euge Groove — collectively and individually — have been delighting smooth jazz fans for decades. Their sound is just perfect for an outdoor show on a warm evening, accompanied by sparkling wine and (for an extra charge) a gourmet supper.
Several other performers scheduled at The Mountain Winery also will be performing at Thornton, including Chris Isaak, Boz Scaggs and Trombone Shorty.

I’ve attended several shows at Thornton through the years. This year, for the first time, I’m springing for the gourmet supper package when I attend the Chris Isaak concert on May 24. It’s a $75 up-charge, and the week following the show, I’ll let you know whether I thought it was worth it.
