Taste the Best That Michigan Has to Offer

pasta dish with red wineWinning wines from the 2014 Michigan Wine Competition will be showcased at a Gold Medal Reception on Aug. 14 from 5 to 8 p.m.

The event will take place in East Lansing, Mich., and many of the winemakers who crafted the winning bottlings will be on hand to answer questions.

The competition’s Best of Class wines will be paired with food prepared by chefs at the Kellogg Center, the facility hosting the event. Other culinary treats will be available for nibbling between sips of other medal-winning wines.

And for those who like to read about wine in addition to drinking it, the author of “Michigan’s Holy Water: The Great Lakes Wine Bible” will be on hand to sign copies. Rick Sigsby did a great job on the book, and if you’re planning a trip to Michigan wine country, it’s a must-read.

Tickets are priced at $40 in advance, or $45, at the door. To save those five bucks, click here.
