A Sure Thing in Vegas? Check Out These Wine Events

Welcome to Las Vegas neon signIt may not have the most politically correct name, but you have to love the premise behind the One Drunk Puppy Wine Tasting Event, which is coming up on Saturday, August 15 at the Silverton Casino’s Veil Pavilion in Las Vegas.

The event will include delicious appetizers, international wines, poolside music and a souvenir wine glass while supporting a good cause — Noah’s Animal House. This foundation provides temporary boarding for the dogs and cats of Shade Tree Shelter clients. Thanks to Noah’s, Nevada women and children wanting to leave their abusive situations no longer have to leave their beloved pets behind.

Tickets, priced at $30 in advance or $40 on the day of the event, may be purchased by calling 702-263-7777, or visiting www.silvertoncasino.com.

If you can’t make it to Vegas for this important event next weekend, be aware that there are wine-related events throughout the year in Sin City — some with charitable tie-ins, some without.

One special that’s being featured throughout 2015 is a 35 percent discount on wine at two restaurants: Andre’s at the Monte Carlo resort, and Alizé at the Top of the Palms. There’s only one caveat: The wine must be ordered before 6:30 p.m.; late-night diners pay full freight.

To reserve a table at Andre’s, call 702-798-7151, or to make a reservation at Alizé, call 702-951-7000.
