America’s big population hubs — New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, et al — have no shortage of wine-focused events over the course of any given year. But wine is popular in smaller cities as well, as the azcentral.com Food & Wine Experience demonstrates.
The inaugural Experience is set for Nov. 7-9 at Scottsdale Fashion Square in Scottsdale, Arizona. It will be highlighted by a Grand Tasting and supplemented by a handful of focused events, following the model of long-established food-and-wine festivals in the big cities.
At the Grand Tasting, guests will enjoy unlimited samples from more than 100 global and local restaurants, wineries and breweries, and menus prepared by top Arizona chefs. Plus, they’ll be entertained throughout the afternoon with interactive displays and exciting demonstrations, art, music and more.
At the East Meets West event, James Beard Award-winning chef Nobuo Fukuda of Nobuo at Teeter House will bring the East to the West experience. Guests can indulge in Fukuda’s renowned Japanese cuisine with a special Sashimi menu, featuring sensational ingredient combinations, fresh seafood and artful compositions.
A Champagne Brunch will be hosted by chef Beau MacMillan of Sanctuary Resort and the ever-chic Elements.
Other food stars scheduled to appear include Graham Elliot, Chuck Hughes, Akira Back, Michael Ginor, Paul Bartolotta, Angie and Ruth McCartney, Jenn Bare, Christopher Gross, Robert McGrath, Silvana Salcido Esparza, Gio Osso, Justin Beckett, Mark Tarbell, Mel Mecinas, Aaron May, Kevin Binkley, Eddie Matney, Matt Carter, Charles Wiley, Scott Holmes, Cullen Campbell, Jason Peterson, Tracy Dempsey, Gregory Wiener, Chris Schlattman, Robin Miller, Dustin Christofolo, Anthony DeMuro, Lisa Dahl, Roberto Madrid, Ryan Swanson, George Frasher, Chrysa Robertson, Conor Favre, Lee Hillson, Bernie Kantak, Stephen Jones, Lee Hillson, Olashawn Hasadinratana-Weaver, Aaron Chamberlin, Tomaso Maggiore, Joey Maggiore, Johnny Chu and Jason Bonafield.
