Today marks the 10th anniversary of the introduction of the term “Cyber Monday.” How do you plan to celebrate?
We don’t normally use this blog for a blatant sales pitch, but it would be disrespectful to the marketing person who coined the now iconic phrase if we did not.
That would be one Ellen Davis who, citing the results of a survey on online shopping, used the phrase when writing about the online discounts and promotions that were offered on the Monday following Thanksgiving.
Now, a decade later, Cyber Monday and its first cousin, Black Friday, are starting earlier than ever — which kind of takes away from their meaning.
But here at Vinesse, we are traditionalists. We believe in eating popcorn when attending a movie. We believe in eating peanuts and Cracker Jack when attending a baseball game. And we believe that Cyber Monday should be celebrated on the Monday following Thanksgiving — no sooner, no later.
For Cyber Monday 2015, Santa’s elves are busy packing boxes with Grab Bag samplers — reds, whites or mixed… our choice. And the more you buy, the more you save, which means you can get a whole lot of holiday shopping done with just a few clicks. You can read all about it here.
Entertaining this holiday season? A Vinesse Grab Bag can take care of your wine needs. Going to attend some other folks’ parties? A bottle of wine makes a great gift. Are there fellow wine lovers in your life? A two-case or three-case grab bag can put a lot of check marks on your gift-giving list.
And if there are any bottles left over… guess who gets to keep them!
Happy anniversary, Cyber Monday!
