Perhaps surprisingly, there are many similarities between wine and cheese, which I talked about in this blog.
Two years later, Max McCalman came out with his “Wine and Cheese Pairing Swatchbook: 50 Pairings to Delight Your Palate.”
And earlier this year, Susan Hart released her book, “How to Dine With Cheese and Wine.”
There’s plenty of written advice available about pairing the right wine with the right cheese, but when it comes right down to it, nothing beats tasting. Why? Because your own taste buds will determine the pairings that you really enjoy.
Today’s special offer is for cheese lovers who enjoy red wine. You can use any of the aforementioned blogs or books for guidance, but I highly suggest picking up a few ounces of seven or eight different types of cheese to try with them.
As you mix and match, take notes. Jot down the pairings you really like, as well as the ones you don’t. Then you’ll know which cheeses to buy the next time you need a cheese-and-wine fix.
