What do American Forests and MLB have in common?

Happy Thursday Vinesse Tribe!

Since I last had my “at bat” doing these emails, it has officially become Spring. I will try to keep this news bulletin consistent with the season.

New Support of Planting Projects with American Forests

vinesseOur team is very excited to announce that last month we entered into a partnership with American Forests. For every shipment we make to customers like you, Vinesse makes a donation to American Forests. Our goal is to partner with American Forests to plant a minimum of 5,000 new trees per year in the United States. Since 1875, American Forests has dedicated its efforts to saving threatened forests, large and small. This Spring the organization is starting planting projects in many of its priority cities and landscapes including:

  • Chicago, IL
  • Columbus, OH
  • Detroit, MI
  • Sierra National Forest, CA

If you are interested in learning more about their mission, you may find this video interesting.

Expect to see more about our involvement with the long-standing and dynamic organization dedicated to restoration of climate smart restoration projects.

Play Ball!

vinesseThe long baseball season is upon us. Maybe that is why this wine bottle holder caught my eye.

Alas, it only comes in one flavor: Kansas City. Me, being a native of Massachusetts, I am partial to the Red Sox. My loyalty remains intact despite intensive lobbying here from fans of the Dodgers, A’s, Giants and Angels.

If you’re a KC Royals fan, and just must have this in your home, you can find it here.

What I Have Been Drinking Lately

Having just returned from vacation in Croatia, I am coming off sampling nothing BUT wines from Croatia, and even Bosnia. Both have been growing wine grapes for centuries but given the fairly recent conflicts (in the early 90s) the wine industry there still seems rather immature. We especially enjoyed the rose and white wines of Croatia. The country produces varieties that are, well, foreign to most Americans (for whites, we especially enjoyed Posip and Gravesina) but very few actually get imported into the U.S.

Enjoy the weekend, everyone.

Cheers!
