This week I’m touching on what’s in my glass, a couple of summer party planning tips and one of my favorite wine country stops that’s right in our backyard-well, almost in our backyard!

Planning Your Summer Soirée

I’m quite the planner and without Wunderlist I would be completely lost. I hosted my first summer get-together this past weekend and I quickly needed to brush up on my summer hosting tips. Here’s my must-follow list to make each summer party the best-of-the-best:

Never run out of vino: I always am worried about how much wine to have on-hand, and this calculator is a perfect cheat-sheet.
Pair the wine with simple food: Keeping it simple makes it easier, especially appetizers and foods that can be prepped ahead of time so that the host or hostess can enjoy the event.
Have fun: Sometimes I like to over complicate, over decorate and this summer I vow to stick to my New Years Resolution- to keep things easy-going.

What’s In My Glass: Frosé

Rosé is THE wine of the summer and I always considered myself a rosé purist, but I was introduced to a wine cocktail, and OH MY! I’ve been converted and am an absolute supporter. I’ve included my recipe below, and it was the hit of the party. If you try it, I would love a pic for our Vinesse Instagram account. Wine Region Spotlight: Santa Ynez

I’ve been lucky enough to travel up and down the California coast stopping at countless wineries and Santa Ynez is by far one of my favorite spots. Roblar Winery has one of THE MOST gorgeous decks in the Santa Ynez valley, and has oak trees that will take your breath away. We usually make Roblar one of our last visits, and the sunset views from the deck are absolutely stunning. Grab a glass of your favorite white wine and you’ll quickly forget that you’re only 40 minutes away from downtown Santa Barbara.
